Having a gambit for the Charge technick when at MP < 10% also helps make sure you never really run out during a fight, but popping an Ether in that situation wouldn't be bad either. Still, pairing your magic class with some sort of physical class like Archer or Machinist works pretty well so you have something to fall back on if all else fails. Once you get some Channeling licences, more levels and some better mystic armors, it becomes more feasible to spellcast 100% of the time.
